Copyright is a form of intellectual property that is not an invention of technology, an aesthetic features of a manufacture goods nor a sign used in a products/ services. Copyright is more of a protection for creative ideas. However, a creative idea itself cannot be protected unless it is manifested into a creation.

Although Copyright registration in Indonesia is filed voluntarily, this registration will be a legitimate evidence of ownership when a dispute occurs. Copying or duplicating the idea is allowable provided that the creator or Copyright holder is giving the permission to do so. Copyright is also related to other rights, i.e. moral right, economy right and neighbouring right.
